FRANCE: SHIFT TO THE LEFT?

First round voting in France's presidential contest is in and a shift to the left is evident. François Hollande the socialist, and Nicholas Sarkozy the center right candidate head for a runoff in May. Right wing candidate Marine Le Pen of the National Front, (above in a photograph of a poster of her in Paris) finished the race in third with nearly 20 percent of the vote. Many are alarmed that Le Pen received such a strong showing.
