THE ARTBLOG'S PHILLY SAFARI ON KICKSTARTER

..... The artblog, an online journal of contemporary art writing edited by Libby Rosoff and Roberta Fallon, has launched a safari.  An art safari that seeks to cut the brush and whack the bush in the contemporary Philadephia art scene.

To make this happen the artblog has launched a Kickstarter campaign. And the good news is that the group is only $400 shy of its $2500 goal.  Take a look at the magazine, then the campaign, then toss in $10 to make it happen.  
For a $40 donation, you will get a Matthew Rose stamp sheet, Rubens Rounding Third, signed, dated, numbered. And, hey! A 2011 tax deduction!

Roberta Fallon and Libby Rosof founded the Zero .1% for Art Commission to bridge the gap between ordinary people and art. theartblog, established in 2003, is an outgrowth of that mission.

Roberta Fallon makes art, writes about art and thinks about art probably too much. She’s proud to claim part ownership of THEartblog with her dear friend and long-time collaborator, Libby. As a child in Milwaukee Roberta put on puppet shows in the garage and sold popcorn for a penny and realized she loved an audience but had no head for business. Married to Steve and with three children, Oona, Max and Stella, Roberta has written about art for Philadelphia Weekly, Artnet, Art Review, Art on Paper, Philadelphia Inquirer and Art and Auction, and has taught and been a visiting critic at Tyler School of Art, St. Joseph’s University and Cranbrook Academy of Art. Libby Rosof I credit my husband Murray and kids Alex and Minna for making me take popular culture seriously. As for the art, I gave it up in the 10th grade in Brooklyn. I wouldn’t have spent so many years on art or spent all my time writing artblog if not for my good buddy and long-time collaborator Roberta–it’s all her fault. I founded the award-winning publication the Penn Current at the University of Pennsylvania, and I’ve taught in public school, the Journalism Department at Temple University and at Tyler School of Art. The Philly Blahg Wars

Philadelphia has a new brand of cream cheese.

The newly launched artblagh is taking on the venerable artblog.org in what seems like a brawling battle of the Philadelphia art blogs.

Thing is the artblagh is fiction. Blagh of course is "blague," joke en français.  Très continental. And hey! Check out those ads! Are they paid? I clicked on the link for the media kit and felt like I was playing Asteroids with the plug pulled out. No link!

The authors of the artblagh are "harry and henrietta falloff" a loving take-off on the artblog's roberta fallon and libby rosoff.

In a recent post, the author "likesomebodycares" announces: "We will have a lot more little inside stories to share with you from time to time. They come out of our upcoming book, Filly Art World Memoir that we are working on. It will name names and we will not be spare anybody. We can't wait to start cashing in on it!!!"
